Tech is a common good. Not a product. We build it with you.

The products

Three free tools. One idea: do more together, with less.

Each product has its own identity and its own community. They all stand on the same ground: open code, your data stays with you, public prices.

In production

Communo

Pool equipment and help each other out across communities: shared inventory, hourly booking, per-community pricing.

  • Shared inventory and online booking
  • Prices and rules set by each community
  • Local governments, nonprofit networks, third places
communo.appby minga
Beta

planck

Run a team, its projects and its budgets: who's on what, which week, for how many days, and where the budget stands.

  • Planning by person and by project
  • Budgets, day rates, overrun alerts
  • Agencies, engineering consultancies, freelance collectives
In design

Ronde

A product's test rounds: the scope to check before going live, step-by-step execution, a reasoned verdict.

  • Scenarios linked to the code and to merge requests
  • A fresh environment for every round
  • Go, go with reservations, no-go: decided on evidence

Manifesto

Minga is everyone's work for a good that belongs to no one.

The word comes from Quechua: the minka is the collective work site where everyone brings their share to build what will serve all. It's also our acronym: Mutualisation, Inclusif, Numérique, Global, Audace (pooling, inclusive, digital, global, daring). And it's why our ring stays open: there's always room for one more.

// philosophy

How we think, how we work.

Not one more method. A way of deciding what we do, and doing it fast and well, without kidding ourselves.

01

Driven by impact, not by the roadmap

Before every project, one question: with what we have, what changes the most for the most collectives? We answer it with numbers, not wishes. What we can't measure, we do anyway; but we say so.

02

The doer knows

The person holding the keyboard, the phone or the van knows more about their subject than any org chart. So they decide, they commit, they report back. No boss to convince: peers to keep informed. That's what a liberated company means to us.

03

Agile, for real

Agility isn't a method, it's a discipline: ship often, listen to the people who use the tool, change your mind when the facts change. Each project picks the framework that fits it, and we swap it out without drama when it stops fitting.

04

Fast, reversible, written decisions

A decision that can be undone is made within the day, by the person closest to the subject. A decision that binds us for the long haul takes a week and a page. Either way, it's written down, dated, public.

05

Patient and determined

A commons is built over years; an improvement, in a few days. We keep both clocks running: the urgency of shipping, and the patience of those who know that free software, done well, wins in the end.

06

Bold and transparent to the point of discomfort

We launch free products against giants. Public code, public roadmap, public prices, decisions on record. When something fails, we write it up before anyone asks. Trust isn't something you ask for; it's something you hand over to be checked.

If you're looking for the school of thought: we owe a lot to the people who ask “with what I have, where do I do the most good?” — and then go and check the answer.

Our values

What we stand by, and ask you to stand by with us. non-negotiable

Values you can check in the code, in the prices and in the way we work with you.

Collective interest

We build what serves the many, not what pays off for the few. The commons comes before the product.

Agility

Short cycles, frequent releases, feedback taken seriously. We change our minds when the facts change.

High standards

A tool used by volunteers should be as polished as a tool sold to a multinational. More so, even.

Solidarity

Big networks fund small ones: our pricing is progressive, and the free tier is not a stripped-down version.

Transparency

Public code, public prices, public roadmap, published results. If we can't show it, we don't do it.

Trust

Your data stays yours, hosted in Europe, exportable at any time. No strings attached.

Respect

People before users. We listen, we answer, we don't manipulate attention.

Responsibility

When we break something, we say so, we fix it, and we explain what changed.

Boldness

Launching free software against giants isn't reasonable. We do it anyway, and we do it well.

Team spirit

Contributors, customers, partners: one team around the same tool. Successes are shared, and so are problems.

Our commitments

Five promises you can check.

Every commitment comes with public proof. If it doesn't, it isn't a commitment.

  1. 1

    All the code is free

Every product is released under a free license from its very first version. You can audit it, host it or modify it.

  2. 2

    Your data stays in Europe

Hosted in Europe, encrypted, full export in one click. No reselling, no ads, ever.

  3. 3

    Public, progressive prices

Posted openly, the same for everyone, proportional to the size of the network. The free tier stays complete.

  4. 4

    An impact report every year

What the tools made possible, what failed, and what we're changing.

  5. 5

A share of the profits to causes that work

Given every year to organizations chosen for the proven effectiveness of their work, not for their fame. Amounts and recipients published.
